JBF have observed the World Spay Day today 25th Feb. 2020 by conducting an awareness program which included regular activity of ABC-ARV (Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination) of street/community dogs at JBF centre, Panjabari, Spay/neuter leaflets distributed in various locations of Guwahati, distribution of coupon for spay/neuter of owned dogs where only medicines will be charged, visitors were also welcomed to visit the centre and witness the practical works and also distribution of informative stickers at pet clinics and pet shops. Similarly to spread the word and aware the mass about spay/neuter, JBF has also conducted a social media campaign with informative Spay/Neuter creative over different social media platforms. Other media platforms who have extended their support are All India Radio, Guwahati, DY365, Prag news channel and News 18 who helped to observe the day successfully. JBF is grateful to Hiyaa’s (clinic and surgical centre for pets) for extending their help in distributing spay/neuter coupons.
World Spay Day is a great opportunity to not only make a difference but also educate pet parents and caretakers on the importance and benefits of sterilization (Spay/Neuter). It is an event that joins everyone around the world in one single effort to help control pet overpopulation and decrease the number of homeless and euthanized animals in our areas.
