Phase I

The points given below are prepared to outline the progress of construction on the site of project JIRAW

• Kennels
• An Operation Theatre (900sq feet) for conducting spay/neuter surgeries and surgeries of rescued dogs.
• Cattery, first ever initiative in North –East.
• A staff quarter and a common kitchen for humans and animals.
• Internal corridor facilitating commutation within the area.
• Preliminary facility installations e.g. Water facility, solar lights, temporary store, and security provision.
• 3 Phase electricity connection.
• Low cost spay-neuter clinic & Anti-rabies Vaccination Clinic

Phase II

• Initiation of Gaushala Project: The provision of Gauseva through a community welfare-based Gaushala for the victims of cow smuggling and confiscation along the border; rise of abandoned cattle; convalescent home for sick and untreated cattle, especially in flood-hit areas.
• Emergency Trauma Care & Boarding facility for rescued dogs.
• Initiation of construction of civil works of 1 km Road to centre.
• Drive for fundraising and stakeholder interaction.

Our approach

Services will be provided under three wings:

Services under ‘Care’ wing:

  • Rescue of injured animals, animals in disasters, conflict and those suffering from cruelty.
  • Emergency and referral veterinary service (Including laboratory support).
  • Sheltering of injured / diseased animals and pain management.
  • Holistic human health care with focus on animal assisted therapy.

Services under ‘Resource’ wing:

  • Animal Birth Control (ABC).
  • Zoonotic disease control.
  • Consultancy for mainstreaming animal welfare in laboratories, trade and business.

The Training areas of the proposed facility will be as follows:

  • Training on Humane Education.
  • Skill training for field workers / para-professionals in animal health and animal welfare.
  • Training on disaster and conflict management.
