Guwahati, 27th March, 2022: JBF INDIA TRUST, organized Animal Care Outreach Program for Vets (27th March, 2022) and Non-Vets (26th March, 2022) at JIRAW (JBF Integrated Care and Resource Centre for Animal Welfare) located at the outskirts of Guwahati in Mairakuchi Gaion, Kamrup (M). This program was organized aiming to provide training to Non-Vets regarding basic knowledge of their dog’s medical problems and also to Veterinarians from Veterinary College came forward to grab the opportunity for their future and ultimately to spread awareness via this program. Prior to this, JBF INDIA TRUST, also organized Animal Birth Control Surgical Training, one of its kind in the entire North East India aiming to control the overgrowing population of dogs in the streets and cessation of spreading of deadly disease Rabies. It was a two-week training program and towards the ending of the training, a valedictory ceremony and dinner in the evening was organized to bid farewell to all the participants who turned this training into a successful journey. Sri Pankaj Chakraborty, Joint Commissioner and Dr Pradip Medhi, Veterinary Officer of Guwahati Municipality Corporation, visited JIRAW and interacted with the team to get a clear vision and the motive behind the surgical training as well as of animal birth control program being held at JIRAW. The training and the program moved ahead with the association of WVS (Worldwide Veterinary Service), who sent their best WVS Task Force Professionals to provide the training to all who joined the program and the training. Dr Smriti Rekha Dutta, Programme Director of JBF says, “we thank all the national and international supporters and well-wishers of JBF who have always been there as backbone. JBF would also like to thank WVS Task Force and Help Animals India for their contribution and
support throughout this journey.” She also mentioned, “JBF is going to conduct such programs in coming days also as we are getting many queries from veterinarians & veterinary assistants from entire north-eastern region of India”.
