JBF (INDIA) TRUST commonly known as JBF (Just Be Friendly) is a professionally managed not-for-profit social sector organization promoting the welfare of animals since its inception in 2003 and it aims to build a society that enables better life for animals and creates better living conditions with humans.
The organization & Jonny Krause, Trustee of JBF (Scotland) who backed for the existence of JBF at India as promoter & mentor and also helped in the initiation processes of the organization.
With the support from Anne Little, JBF succeeded in buying the plot of land at Sonapur, near Guwahati, Assam where the proposed infrastructure for animal welfare is to be established. JBF acknowledges the help received from Anne Little and will forever be grateful for extending help in bringing the project into being. As a tributary to Anne, JBF named the establishment as Anne’s Integrated Care and Resource Centre for Animal Welfare. JBF will always be thankful to her, without which, the possibility of the project wouldn’t have existed.
One of the back bones of JBF! Helping in the all four initiatives of JBF as well as to start building Kennels in Anne’s Integrated Care and Resource Centre for Animal Welfare. Always supportive as per capacity in upliftment of JBF.
The foundation has supported for the Anti-Rabies Vaccination drive along with the Animal Birth Control Program (ABC-ARV). JBF acknowledges the help offered by FBB and will move forward accordingly with the same motive in the near future.
Mission Rabies has partnered with Just Be Friendly (JBF) NGO to tackle the rabies epidemic and promote animal welfare in local communities. This collaboration focuses on vaccination, education, and community engagement.
Animal Welfare Board of India supported JBF by providing grants in building Integrated Rescue & Resource Centre for Animal Welfare (Shelter Grant). JBF aims to work under the guidance of AWBI for serving the purpose of animal welfare for the upliftment of the animals.
It would not have been possible without the help of WSPA that donated two wheelers at Delhi and also helped in setting up Operation theatre at Guwahati with a small grant fund. WSPA also worked as an implementing partner for other causes such as Disaster Response work.
Received donation in kind e.g., medicines, books. JBF is associated as a partner organization and participated in MISSION RABIES 2013.
Animal Friends Insurance had supported in the past to run the Mobile Cattle Clinic in Delhi through JBF (Scotland).
Humane Society International has assisted JBF by providing support for internship and enhancement of knowledge in the field of animal welfare. Apart from that, HSI provides post flood veterinary relief to the communities which are heavily affected by the disastrous flood.
JBF has been working with Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) since 2009 under the ABC program (first of its kind in the seven states of the North-East region of India) and have successfully operated more than 19000 dogs till date. It is a happy moment to celebrate for the street/stray dogs that Guwahati Municipal Cooperation has come up again with a commitment and re-launched the ABC-ARV program. JBF is thankful to GMC for support and cooperation so far.
