Kamakhya Temple is a popular pilgrimage site for those of the Hindu faith, it was built to symbolise and honour the deity Kamakhya. Representing The Female Power of Shakti and celebrating a woman’s ability to conceive. According to legend, it marks the site where Sati’s womb fell. It’s the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas that still stands today and sees thousands of tourists, visitors, and spiritual pilgrims each year.

Recently JBF have conducted a treatment service to the goats in the temple premises who were suffering from severe skin disease which led to other medical problems and that they have been cured and handed over in the temple with good health. In addition, JBF also observed stray dogs in the temple premises where found that the dogs vaccination is not widely practiced which could also affect the human lives. Lack of feeding and visitor’s troubles makes the dogs aggresive . For the co-existence between the human and animals, JBF is willing to provide protection and to schedule a vaccination drive for the stray dogs in the kamakhya temple premises. The vaccine’s purpose is to ensure that the dogs don’t distemper with other fatal disease as well as protect every visitor’s health, which could be fatalistic if not taken care for both.
