Animal Welfare Fortnight 2024

Activities undertaken by JBF (INDIA) Trust

Animal Welfare Fortnight is celebrated every year from January 14 to January 30 to create awareness in the civic society to treat all animal life with respect, kindness and compassion.

As a part of the event, JBF conducted events in two districts, i.e. Kamrup (M) and Jorhat, Assam.

In Jorhat, the event was successfully conducted in Sarojini Devi Higher Secondary School, Hatigarh Higher Secondary School, Kakojan Govt. M.E. School, Fatik Chandra Soot Memorial Gurukul Jatiya Vidyalaya, Tarajan High School, Anupam Bhuyan M.E. School, 82 No. Potiya Gaon L.P. School and Dahikhur M.E. School. As a part of the event students participated in Poster Making on the theme of “Animal Welfare and One Health: Understanding the importance of animal welfare in academic as well as practical implementation. The students also participated in Photography event with the theme of Five Principles of Animal Welfare. It can be seen that the students were interested towards the event and provided positive support towards it.

In Guwahati, JBF in collaboration with JIRAW (JBF Integrated Care and Resource Centre for Animal Welfare) distributed leaflets among masses. Also, in collaboration with Hiyaa’s Clinic & Surgical Centre for Pets JBF raised awareness among people and pet parents regarding animal welfare. JBF also successfully conducted Poster Making event in collaboration with Dreams School of Art where many students participated.

The event was successful as JBF was able to successfully conduct it in two districts of Assam. The initiative (Animal Welfare Fortnight) is an effective effort by AWBI which can create a positive image of animal welfare among students and masses. JBF is proud to be a part of such as event.
