Rabies is a common zoonotic disease in India. Recent reports published states lakhs of people in India succumbing to the disease every year.
Rabies is fatal when infected, but 100% preventable. The need of the hour is introspection and awareness regarding Rabies among the masses. A mammoth responsibility is to be taken by local associations to educate and sensitize the people regarding safe human-animal companionship.
In case of #Nagaon, the local association RK Pet Clinic were contacted. By doing a commendable job of vaccinating the animals throughout the entire day the collaborative effort was successful in getting numerous animals vaccinated.
JBF’s mission to eradicate Rabies and march towards Stray Population Management drives the campaigns the organization undertakes on important occasions around the year.
