Birthday, Anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Teacher day, Children day, etc., we celebrate all these human events and somehow they became the important part of our lifestyle. But, along with we human, there are animals also who exist and they also have the right to live their life to the fullest, being a part of the living World. Unfortunately, they are animals. They cannot think like us, they cannot plan like us, they even cannot enjoy the important days like us. But we are potentially strong in such case. But do we really think of them?
As of 2014, 20,000 crimes are recorded in India and around 16,000 wildlife criminals are brought under custody*. This indeed shows more inhumane in human. World Animal Day is celebrated with the mission to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Declaring a day for animals and celebrating it is not at all sufficient. Instead we should take oath this World Animal Day to work for the welfare of animals and let them live freely without disturbing them. This will indeed establish the power of co-existence between human and animals.
JBF, an animal welfare organization, is already in its way to raise the status of animals and establish a symbiotic coexistence of humans and animals. Further JBF makes promise this World Animal Day, that it will continue to work for animal welfare in future also. But, it is not at all possible for JBF alone to proceed towards the mission. Hence JBF seeks support and contribution from People as well as government to fulfill its mission of friendly society.
