Position Details
Role: Veterinarian & Program Lead
Location: Guwahati, Assam
Salary: ₹30,000 per month + TA (Negotiable)
About the Role
As the Veterinarian & Program Lead, you will lead the implementation of rabies elimination initiatives across Assam. This role combines veterinary expertise with program leadership, requiring hands-on fieldwork, team management, and strategic coordination.
Eligibility Criteria
- Degree in Veterinary Science (BVSc or equivalent)
- Freshers may apply
- 2–3 years of relevant field experience (preferred)
- Practicing veterinarians will be given preference
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee project implementation under senior management guidance
- Plan and execute rabies control programs, including vaccination and sterilization drives
- Provide veterinary care, treatment, and emergency response in field conditions
- Ensure proper handling, vaccination, and documentation of animals
- Train and guide field staff on animal health and welfare practices
- Coordinate with internal teams, government bodies, and external stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of targets
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Draft proposals, EOIs, budgets, and newsletters
- Manage and contribute to social media outreach
- Conduct regular field/site visits and assessments
- Ensure timely updates and reporting to supervisors
- Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the management.
Additional Requirements
- Strong interest in animal welfare and the development sector
- Basic computer proficiency
- Good communication skills in Assamese, Hindi, and English
- Must own a two-wheeler with a valid driving license
- Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork
- Commitment to long-term engagement
