Assam is a land of flora and fauna. But it is at its worst when it comes to the rainy days, it is drenched in flood. Every monsoon almost 80% of the state is flooded with neck- deep water. It is called the most flood-affected area in India and also an unfelt region. But during natural disasters and interventions it becomes challenging for both humans and animals. Taking care of these animals is a crucial task of post-disasters. And at times, these animals are the only companion, livelihood and their asset that people are left with. JBF acknowledges this and provides optimum possible care to the livestock& companion animals.

Assam is one of the most disaster prone states in India. Every year JBF fulfils the aim of serving these affected animals. They reach several places of Assam providing post flood veterinary support including camps that JBF sets up for saving lives of hundreds of animals. Since JBF has been brought to the mission, it has intervened in post-disaster situations across the state of Assam especially after the annual floods that severely affect the lives of these vulnerable animals.

JBF has been supported by National & International Organizations such as Humane Society International (HSI), an international relief agency, Four Paws, Help Animals India, Well Fed World, Shrimanta Foundation& Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandary, Guwahati.
