On 26th of May’17, JBF performed a vaccination program in Ambari, Guwahati. Mr. Khagen Kalita informed JBF about the stray dogs in his locality in need of Anti Rabbis Vaccination. There was around 25 stray dogs out of which 15 dogs has been vaccinated successfully. The other remaining dogs were not found at the premises at the time of vaccination. JBF is hopeful to vaccinate those dogs in near future. The vaccination was organised in Shine Heaven Apartment in Satgaon Baghorbori Road, Guwahati. The residence of the apartment co-operated with the JBF team to gather as many dogs as possible in the premises. The vaccination program was held early in morning with the aim not to disturb the surroundings during working time.
One of the dogs was brought in the JBF centre for the ABC operation. The birth control operation will be conducted soon for the other left dogs. The purpose of the vaccination was to prevent the people around from the danger of rabbis. JBF is soon planning to conduct Animal Birth Control operation as well. The ABC operation will help to control the over population of the stray dogs in the area.
JBF always try to aware the citizens regarding the danger of rabbis and benefits of the ABC operations. It is good to see that people like MR.Khagen Kalita are aware of such issues and came forward to help not just him but his area as well. The program was successful because of the JBF team of doctors, helpers, animal handlers and the residence of the Shine Heaven Apartment. Hope that people will be more aware about the stray dogs in their areas and help JBF to accomplish such programs in future.
