Department of Social Work, Women’s College, Shillong, as a part of their educational tour to Guwahati found important to visit JBF (INDIA) TRUST. On 9th December 2016, the team of Women’s College consisting of 29 BSW 3rd Year students and 2 faculty members visited JBF. Their main objective of visiting JBF was to have an idea of animal welfare issues and the working nature of the JBF, being an animal welfare organization.
The students were given a brief description of JBF, which was followed by interactive session on their queries. The students further were introduced to the working process of JBF and they too had a look of the pickup van, the shelter and the operation theatre. They were also distributed with the leaflets of the organization.
The team found the organizational activity very much and they even appreciated the initiative that JBF undertakes. One of the student beautifully presented the vote of thanks on behalf of her team and also presented JBF with a token of gift. Hopefully this will motivate the students to shape their academic and professional life in the field of social work.
