JBF always wanted to have a representative from Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) as the member of Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). Moreover, the organization also tried since long back for the purpose. Finally the efforts and desires came true and it is time to rejoice the moment.
As per the announcement made by Gazette of India on 3rd March 2017 regarding AWBI members, a representative of Guwahati Municipal Corporation is a now a member of the board (AWBI).
