Support us to create Rabies Free Assam by 2030! BE SAFE; KEEP SAFE!

On 30 March 2018, JBF is preparing to conduct a training program on Prevention of Dog Bites and Rabies at MMCH (Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital), Panbazar where team JBF will train more than 30 staff nurses MMCH (Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital)>.

This program is conducted with a mission to spread awareness and communicate dog-bite and rabies prevention information to the staff nurses and help remove ignorance and associated fear. It will also help to provide patients with the necessary emotional support to cope with the post-bite effects such as fear, anger, distress, and sadness. This training is not only for the purpose of providing the patient with relevant information on the subject but also in enabling the patient to make healthy and safe choices in the future. This training is not only for the purpose of providing the patient with relevant information on the subject but also in enabling the patient to make healthy and safe choices in the future.

Rabies is 100% preventable yet at least 55,000 human’s die from rabies each year around the world, mostly from exposure to dogs. A person dies of rabies almost every 10 minutes. Almost half of all rabies deaths occur in children under the age of 15 years. Lack of awareness among the people is the main factor in our country, even if organizations like us are struggling tirelessly to create awareness among public but still larger group of people are unaware of the deadly disease-Rabies.

WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT JBF CANNOT MOVE A SINGLE STEP TOWARDS OUR INITIATIVE!
