Blacky, a black doggy with bright eyes was found near Meghdoot Bhawan (Kachari) last week. Her Eyes was full of tears and was unable to move, sitting beside the Bhawan. Insects crawling throughout her body.
Looking at the condition, a little boy was touched and made a call to JBF helpline number. Understanding the severity and the miserable condition JBF team reached the spot immediately and rescued her. She has been named Blacky at the centre under care and management.
She had a granulomatous growth in her rear part and in a very bad condition.
Immediately after the physical examination, treatment started and Blacky was provided Anti-biotic and Chemo Therapy along with other supportive therapy. For about one week Blacky was kept under constant observation under proper care and treatment.
After three weeks although Blacky recovered from the growth but still she is very weak so she is under observation, management and rests for the Animal Birth Operation before going back to her sweet home ‘the street’.
Vets also said “Blacky is extremely lucky that JBF found her and was able to save her from such a life threatening disease called Transmissible Venereal Granuloma, which spreads from dog to dog during the mating season. Gradually the dog condition is improving but she will need few more days to recover completely and get ready for the ABC surgery otherwise it may again lead to misery in her life”.
JBF is trying its best to fight through such cases faced by these helpless animals just need a helping and supportive hands, not fingers pointing to us. We as small organization face lots of financial crises during the process of our mission due to our limited resources.
Along with such daily activities, ABC& ARB program, we also need to undergo Flood-relief veterinary support camps in affected areas of Assam simultaneously.
