AaDaR, a humane education initiative was launched at Cambridge International School, Guwahati on 28th May 2015 under its awareness drive initiatives for schools. AaDaR in Assamese language means “a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude towards a living creature”. JBF has named the project AaDaR because it aspires to shower kindness and compassion for animals among the school students. The project was well accepted by the students, teachers and the concerned authority of the school. Under AaDaR, JBF targets mainly the school children for creating awareness on Animal Welfare and also planning for program likeTraining of Trainers (TOT) in the schools.
The objectives of AaDaR are stated below:
- Create awareness amongst children on animal welfare.
- Interactive sessions with the children on topics on animal welfare and human animal bond through various art forms and activities like drawing, writing competitions, skits and street plays etc
JBF wishes to tie-up with various schools in every nook and corner of the Guwahati city& other parts of the northeast India and looks for enthusiastic educational institutions to promote this initiatory project.
